3D Printing vs Traditional Model Making: Which Is Right for Your Project?
The question isn't which method is better it's which method is right for the specific geometry, timeline, and budget in front of you. Most premium models we build combine both.
Where 3D printing wins
Complex, repeated, or organic geometry cladding panels, columns, architectural motifs — prints faster and more consistently than hand fabrication, especially at 0.2mm tolerances.
Where traditional model making wins
Large flat surfaces, landscaping, and certain finishes are still faster and cheaper by hand. Traditional fabrication also allows on-the-fly design changes that a print queue cannot.
The hybrid approach
Our standard workflow prints structural and repeated components, then hand-finishes and assembles on a traditionally built base combining the precision of one with the speed and tactility of the other.
